Family members across the ages seek support from Macedonia FACE. Often in despair, they are looking for HOPE.

Alicia struggled to find childcare so that she could work. In spite of her efforts to juggle two part time jobs, she fell behind on her bills including rent and was facing eviction. It was a challenge to keep food on the table. With two children in elementary school, she was concerned that her daughter was not getting the support she needed and that her son was disinterested in school and missing too many days. It was stressful for her not being able to spend the time with her children that she felt they needed. Alicia prided herself in always being able to take care of her family, but she was starting to feel that she couldn't do it anymore.

Because of the support from donors like you, FACE is able to bring HOPE to families like Alicia's. To address the immediate hardship, a food box and grocery store gift card helped the family to fill the gap until additional support could be realized. FACE staff assisted Alicia in finding flexible childcare to meet her work schedule and supported her in finding full time employment. A budget plan and financial support to address back rent prevented her family from being evicted.

FACE's school-based youth workshops were just what her son needed to make friends and build confidence, making school a better place to be. With the support of FACE staff, and the burden of pending eviction lifted, Alicia had the energy to advocate for her daughter to receive the educational support she needed to succeed.

Alicia isn't alone. Too many families are not able to put food on the table, are skipping meals to keep the lights on, or choosing between rent and groceries. These are impossible choices. At Macedonia FACE, we believe no one should have to choose between basic needs. That's why we deliver more than meals - we're delivering HOPE.
